Aaron Reed/TAR video collaboration
Posted By: gabe on October 8th, 2008
Aaron Reed has asked Gabe Lucas and TAR to co-produce the new Obscura team video. Obscura is Reed’s new wakeskate company. (obscurawakeskates.com) The team consists of Reed, Danny Hampson, Kyle Hyams, and TARs own Stefan Schriewer. Shooting has already started, but really just begun. Texas, of course, will be the home base for this project. But we have already planned to venture out into the wild for some more exotic locations. Both parties are charged up on this one. Locked and loaded. Make no mistake. The Reed/TAR combo is deadly. Be ready for this bomb to drop.
birthday party marathon
Posted By: gabe on October 8th, 2008
this past weekend was like a birthday party marathon. five TAR family friends (blake, brad, deleigh, lauren, and tom fooshee aka the champ) all had birthdays and parties consecutively. i was having trouble keeping up. but it was a blast trying. it all started on thursday and didnt come to a halt until sunday funday. there was a little of everything going down. i didnt matter if it was at a bar on the square, a house party, a river party, or a bus ride to austin, it was going down. some may call it a binge. i call it a committed life celebration. although there were no “chug and jumps” there was plenty of keg beer, cheap bar tabs, and good company. happy birthday to all my friends. cant wait till next year.
"trick of the year"
Posted By: gabe on October 4th, 2008
The 2008 Wake Awards presented by Wakeboarding Magazine nominated Gabe Lucas for trick of the year. Gabe and the infamous stunt called
“the canoe death gap”
was put on the ballot along with names like Danny Harf, and Keith Lyman. The award show took place at Surf Expo in Orlando Florida in Sept. Danny Harf ended up taking the award respectfully with the first ever 1260, which he landed days before the event. Word up to Danny and his powerful equilibrium. Danny, Gabe, and the canoe death gap, can be seen in TAR’s latest video “What in TARnation!!?”, and also in the new movie “Drive” (which was nominated for movie of the year).
Winch Mission: Road Trip to Ft. Worth

After driving around for a while, looking at the endless amount of winch spots Clint Tompkins knows about, I had a feeling we would have some fun. The fun mostly started when we snuck into a train yard that backed up to our spot (this saved us much grief). We even talked to a few friendly redneck workers that saw us hidden/parked in the back corner of the private/hazardous property. I believe there exact words were
“ohhh. yall are gonna be doing that crazy x games shit huh?”
but they were cool, and let us be. So we proceeded to set up and shred. Perfect light, got the shots, no problems….mucho bueno. do work son
